ESTATE LANDSCAPING
Muriwai Estate
MURIWAI, AUCKLAND
A complete landscape build on Auckland's west coast — earthworks, bespoke timber, an olive orchard and thousands of plants shaped into a landscape that feels at one with its surroundings.
Project Overview
Perched high above the Tasman Sea, Muriwai Estate blends the rugged beauty of New Zealand's west coast with the quiet elegance of a Mediterranean estate. White stone terraces, an established olive orchard, Italian cypress, natural timber and generous planting create a landscape that evokes the character of rural Tuscany while remaining unmistakably at home in its coastal setting.
Planters delivered the project from the ground up, undertaking every stage of the landscape construction including earthworks, drainage, civil infrastructure, hardscape, bespoke timber construction, water features and the establishment of thousands of trees, shrubs and groundcovers. Every detail was carefully executed to create a landscape that feels timeless, refined and inseparable from the architecture and the land it occupies.

Outcome
Built to endure.
Years from now, Muriwai Estate will feel even more at home in its surroundings. The olive orchard will mature, the Italian cypress will define the skyline, and the natural stone and timber will continue to weather gracefully. Designed for permanence rather than trends, the landscape is crafted to become richer, more characterful and more connected to the land with every passing season.
